IMPORTANT DATES!!
The Executive Committee met quite recently and are putting a number of plans in place to make the most of the Summer weather, have some fun and maybe some fundraising as well!
Parent Helpers Meeting - Thursday 4th June from 6.45 until 7.45pm
We are in the process of setting up a new team of Leaders and helpers to take over running the Cub Pack and the Beaver Colony from Chris and Mo. The District Commissioner has found a very experienced Tutor to assist the new leaders, and we expect her to be at the meeting. Mo and Chris will continue to be around to support the new leaders for as long as necessary and Chris will continue as Group Scout Leader. This meeting will be your opportunity to meet the team and join in whatever capacity you are able. Remember that occasional help or clerical support is just as valuable as regular leadership. Please be sure to come to the meeting whichever section you are interested in and whatever help you can offer.
Cubs will have outside activities whatever the weather so that we can use the hut, and any other children are welcome to join them so that their parents can attend the meeting undisturbed, but please warn Chris in advance.
Annual General Meeting - Tuesday 16th June 2009 - 7.30pm
The Executive Committee run the Group and clearly need to update all parents on what has been happening over the last year, the financial position and what we have planned for the coming year. The meeting will commence at 7.30pm and refreshments will be available. It is really important that the new Exec hear your views and we really hope as many parents as possible can attend.
Family Hike and Picnic - Sunday 21st June - 2pm
We would like to invite all Beavers, Cubs and Scouts and their friends & families to join us for a 2 hour walk followed by a picnic. Please confirm numbers for catering purposes to your Leader. We will be asking for a donation of food or funds in advance.
Hut Tidy Up - Saturday 27th June & Saturday 18th July - from 10 until 1pm
You may have noticed [we have!] that the hut is looking a little "tired round the edges" and we are looking for a few willing parents to help in a Saturday Spruce up! We will be at the Hut on each Saturday from 10am with a list of jobs for willing volunteers! We need to do this for the benefit of your children so please do join us even if its' just for half an hour. We will also be running some activities for Beavers and Cubs if that helps parents help!
