District Night Hike
A competition hike around the Chilterns for teams of 4-6 Scouts and a shadow. The Scouts competed against
other Troops in the District. The hike ended late, so everyone slept over at the end.

The night hike was a laugh, the weather had been great all week and then on the hike it was awful. It rained
all night. When we (group 7 - Josh C, Josh B, Charlie, Joe and me) were walking past my house, my mum jumped
out at us trying to be scary! It didn't work!
We had to walk 13 kilometres in the rain with heavy mud covered boots on. We walked from Prestwood to Great
Missenden then on to Little Kingshill, Denner Hill and back to Prestwood. There were checkpoints at various
places. At each one we had to complete a challenge.
When we got back from the walk, there were only 2 other groups there so we must have been pretty quick. When
it was 1 in the morning and we had to go to sleep, no one did until about 3.30am! We were up at
6.30am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
