Pirate Camp
We had a camp on at Longridge by the Thames to celebrate International Talk Like A Pirate Day. We will camped on the
Island camp site, which added to the fun. Everything had to be ferried over to the campsite - the tents, the
Scouts and all their kit. Everytime we wanted to visit the mainland, to go to the shop, or to go to the loo, we
had to take the ferry across the river. Some of us got lots of practise at rowing and mooring the boat!
The camp was from Saturday morning until noon on Sunday. We had a Dragon Boating session on the
Saturday afternoon. This was good practice for the Dragon Boating
competition at Longridge on Saturday 26th September. Those Scouts that attended both the Pirate Camp and
the Competition the following weekend qualified for the Dragon Boating badge.
The cost of the camp included a pirate scarf.
