February Camp
12 Scouts and 3 Leaders spent the last weekend of halfterm camping at Braidwood. We were forecast terrible
weather but actually had a very mild and sunny camp (though a bit cold at night).
The PLs and APLs met in the dark on the Friday evening in the mess tent that had already been pitched by the
leaders. They then helped to transport all the rest of the kit across the site in wheelbarrows. The cook tent was pitched and the rest of the Scouts started to arrive in time to pitch their tents. The rest of the evening
was spent round the fire.
Saturday was a lovely warm day. There was a chance to learn about knives, axes and saws, to explore the site
and to generally relax and all get to know each other better. In the evening there were songs and games round
the campfire, followed by a wide game.
On the Sunday morning there was a lot to fit in before our early departure. After breakfast the Scouts tidied
up and started packing kit and tents. Elspeth then joined the camp for a Scouts Own to celebrate Founders Day
and also to invest three new Scouts - Tasha, Lewis and Josh.
All the Scouts enjoyed the camp and are now looking forward to more camps later in the year (hopefully with even
warmer weather).
