Blue Peter Prom
This was a special Prom at the Royal Albert Hall aimed for young people. It was presented by Gemma Hunt and
former Blue Peter presenter and current Chief Scout, Peter Duncan. The theme of the concert was
"Jamboree!" and included Fanfare for the Common Man, Harry Potter, a Bollywood medley with
dancers and Land of Hope and Glory (made famous at the Last Night of the Proms).
The concert started at 11.00am, so we caught an early train up to London from Beaconsfield. We had a great view
from right at the front of the arena and all enjoyed the concert. After the concert we gathered up our bags and
balloons and went down to the dressing rooms, where we met Peter Duncan and Gemma Hunt. We took squares of
material for Peter to sign so that we could make them into badges for our camp blanket.
We went to Hyde Park and found a spot in the shade near the BBC Blast stage to have our lunch. After lunch we
headed to BP house and went up to the terrace on level two. Here we invested Luke, and he became the newest
member of the Troop.
