County PL Camp
County again held a camp for PLs/APLs and older Scouts (13+). It was a little later in the term this year to encourage more Troops will be able to attend.
The idea was that older Scouts get a chance to organise their own camp, rather than being supervised by a
Leader.
The Scouts plan how they want to camp, how they want to cook and what they want to eat. They can also plan what
activities they want to do. I worked with the Scouts in the planning stage, and then they camped on their own for the weekend. They could contact me if there were any problems, and there were also County Leaders on site
who could deal with any problems and who also make sure that everyone was okay.
On the Saturday (26th) the Troop entered the Dragon Boating
competition at Longridge in Marlow - I collected the Scouts from the Patrol Leaders Camp early in the
morning and drove them to the competition.
