Scouting's Sunrise Camp

On 1st August at 8.00am local time, all around the world Scouts renewed their promises. This was a very significant time as it was exactly 100 years after the first experimental Scout camp started.

We had an overnight camp on the 31st July in Great Missenden. In the morning we had a special ceremony to celebrate Scouting's Sunrise, which will included a renewal of promises at 8.00am. We followed the ceremony with breakfast and then had activities during the day before heading over to Ley Hill to join in with the District's celebration at 8.00pm.

There were twenty people at the Sunrise Ceremony: 13 Scouts, 4 Leaders, Nick Coward (County Caving Advisor), Tom Hildreth (past young leader with our Cub Pack) and Tricia Neale, the Licensed Lay Minister from the Parish Church. Special thanks go to Elspeth for putting the service (and cake) together, and Tricia for agreeing to join us as a representive from the local church.
