Scout Christmas Post Deliveries
Various members of the Troop helped during the day to deliver over 700 Christmas cards to houses in Great
Missenden.

Night Hike
On a damp and cold night we went on a Night Hike around the Missenden Area. We ended up back at the hut and
spent the night there. The next morning we got up, tidied up and then went to sell stamps outside the library
for the Scout Christmas Post.

Six Scouts from the Troop took part in the competition hyke in the Northern Chilterns.

Remembrance Service
We joined Prestwood Scouts and the Guides again for a Remembrance Day service at Holy Trinity Church in
Prestwood.

Conservation Workday at Holy Trinity Prestwood
A Number of the Scouts spent the day at Holy Trinity in Prestwood helping with the Church's efforts to tidy up
its grounds.

District 5-A-Side Football Competition
The District 5-a-side was held at Sprinters in Prestwood.

County Orienteering Competition
This long running event (no pun intended) was held again in Wendover Woods in October 2008. The Scouts competed
in teams of 2.

County Patrol Leaders Camp
Held at Braidwood. £12 each (not including food). The Scouts were allowed to camp in any style they wished and to cater for themselves. No leaders were required. Activities included climbing wall, caving, crystal maze.

Youlbury Camp
The aim for this camp was to practise some traditional Scouting, and to help the Scouts gain either their
Outdoor Challenge or Outdoor Plus Challenge. The weekend was mainly dry, and our woodland site gave us shelter
when it did rain. We would all like to return to camp at Youlbury again.

Caving Weekend
5 Scouts from Great Missenden joined 12 more from
1st
Chalfont St. Peter Scouts to go on a caving weekend in Somerset. We stayed at the Cerberus caving hut in
the mendips and went caving on Saturday and Sunday.

Night Hike and Litter Picking
On the Friday evening we went on a night hike around the local area, starting and finishing at the Scout Hut.
We got back quite late and then slept overnight in the hut. The next morning, after breakfast, we spent some
time in the grounds of the Misbourne School collecting litter to tidy the local environment and also work
towards our Community Challenge badge.

St. George's Day
To celebrate St. George's day we joined other Scouts from the District in Holmer Green. We paraded from the
common to the Baptist Church where we had a service before parading back to the common to be dismissed.

District Night Hike
Four Scouts and Tom took part in the District Night Hike. This year the hike was based around the Prestwood
area.

Conservation Working Day at Holy Trinity
Prestwood
We joined some Prestwood Scouts and members of Holy Trinity on their work day to help tidy the church grounds.
We worked hard and made some good progress.
