| Troop Fundraising |
In addition to taking part in the Group's
fundraising events, the Troop also works to raise funds for itself and other good causes.
The funds that we raise for the Troop are spent on updating and increasing our camping equipment to enable us to
provide for the increasing number of Scouts in the Troop.
We would appreciate welcome donations of Tesco Sport vouchers, Sainsbury's Active Kids vouchers, or any equipment
that you think may be of use to us. If you wish to make a donation to the Troop, financial or otherwise,
please contact the Scout Leader.
The Troop also collects used stamps which we pass on to
Hearing Dogs
for Deaf People who use them to raise funds.
2009-10
This year we plan to go carol singing again, and we may also hold a sponsored event in 2010. We are also
considering encouraging the Troop to raise funds for a cause - more details to follow...

Shelterbox 2010 Challenge
We plan to take part in the Shelterbox 2010 Challenge, which is designed for Scouts and compliments the Scouting programme that we provide, while also giving opportunities to raise money for Shelterbox. More details will follow, but each Scout will be set the target of raising £20 for the charity over the course of the year (which should mean we will raise enough to pay for a box). I have set up a JustGiving page ready for when we start fundraising.

2008-9
The Troop entered a team in the Shelterbox Scavenger Hunt
in London. The event was not for fundraising, as it was aimed at celebrating the new partnership between the
Scout Association and Shelterbox. We did have a little money left over from our costs on the day though, and
donated £15.00 to Shelterbox.
In March the Troop entered two teams in the District Night
Hike. As it was Red Nose Day, the Scouts collected sponsors for the hike which they donated to Comic Relief -
the total raised was £295.71.
This year we raised £68.90 from our carol singing in the village.
2007-8
Once again we went Carol singing in the village and raised £88.53.
We were also lucky to receive a donation of £100 to be spent on new tents.
2006-7
This year we are raising funds for two reasons. The first is to purchase some new hike tents for the Troop, and
the second is to raise money to help Lawrence and four other members of the District to attend the World Scout
Jamboree in the summer.
We ran stalls at the Missenden Show on 7th May,
and Lawrence also held a "pot of gold" competition.
In December we went carol singing around Great Missenden and raised £73.09.
In March the Troop completed a sponsored hike for their
Expedition Challenge. The hike was 30km long and has raised £291.60 to date (not including gift aid
on sponsorship).
2005-6
We held a sponsored events during our Spring Camp to raise money for the "Gimmie 5 Challenge". The Scouts on
camp completed a 24 hour sponsored silence and other Scouts raised money in other ways. In total we raised
£244. £183 was split between the the Scout Association's World Friendship Appeal and WWF. We
were allowed to donate the remaining money, so we gave the £61 to Toybox, a local charity.
