6th June 2007 - Conservation work at Mop End Field Studies Centre

13 Scouts, 4 Leaders and 2 parents met a Mop End to do some Conservation work as part of the Community Challenge. We were given instructions from Jackie who works at the centre.

First of all we worked to clear the brambles, bracken and silver birch saplings from an area which is to be used by small children for mini-beast hunts. Then we moved on to the clearing under electricity wires to remove as many silver birch sapplings as possible to give the heather more space.

As you can see, the Scouts worked hard. At the end of the evening we met in the Teepee to award some badges before going home.
