Spring 2008

This term we focussed on the Global Challenge and the Chef Badge. For the Global Challenge the Scouts wrote letters to Scouts in Australia, and also learnt about Global issues. We spent an evening finding out about Fairtrade at the start of Fairtrade Fortnight, and we were visited by a speaker from Christian Aid who told us about their work with HIV/Aids.

For the Chef Badge we learnt about food hygiene, where to buy food, and how to store it. The patrols made an apple crumble and then the Scouts planned and cooked a three course meal at home for their families. For the final part of the badge, they planned a menu for a weekend Scout camp.

Badges you should earn this term: Global Challenge and Chef.
