13/01/10 Gt Missenden I Troop Meeting - Global Challenge - Shelterbox and Homelessness.
Introducing the 2010 Shelterbox Challenge which should enable to Scouts to also complete the Global Challenge. We will also be doing a little bit towards the Expedition Challenge and some games.

20/01/10 Gt Missenden I Troop Meeting - Kit Evening
This is linked to the Expedition Challenge, but is also good for camping, hiking etc etc. Scouts will need to attend with a packed rucksack, based on the kit list provided the previous week. We will also be showing examples of various bits of kit that are available, encouraging the Scouts to start to make a kit wish list for birthdays, Christmas etc., and thinking about how to pack kit for an expedition.

27/01/10 Gt Missenden I Troop Meeting - a visit from some Hearing Dogs and their handlers - Community Challenge.
Some local handlers who breed and socialise hearing dogs puppies will be coming in to talk about what they do and answer any questions about hearing dogs. This counts towards the first part of the Community Challenge. The Scouts are required to write a follow up report on the visit to complete the badge requirements for this part (the second part is to complete 6 hours of community service).

Braidwood O Chiltern North District Selection Weekend for the 2011 World Scout Jamboree in Sweden.
This is open to those in the Troop that are born before 27th July 1997. It is a weekend to select 3 people from the District that will make up part of the 36-strong Bucks unit and attend the 2 week long Jamboree in Sweden in the summer of 2011.

03/02/10 Gt Missenden I Troop Meeting - Wide Game Planning
This will involve some briefing and planning ready for the wide game the following week, which should hopefully be a little more involved (and fun). The planning will also provide more training ready for the Expedition Challenge.

London O Junior Expedition
A chance to earn the Expedition Challenge by taking the "Exploration" option. We will travel to London by public transport and then walk the final distance to a campsite where we will stay overnight.

17/03/10 Hemel Hempstead I/O Quasar - £5 per Scout. We have two games booked (normally £4.95 each) with a break between the two. Scouts need to arrive at Quasar at 6.45pm ready for the first game at 6.55pm and will be ready to be collected at 9.15pm. Please share lifts where possible. 10

Local area O Day Hike - A hike around the local area. It will count as 1 Hike Away, and will be a good chance to get out in the countryside locally and practise your navigation skills. 10



  • Please attend each meeting in full uniform unless told otherwise. You may bring old clothes and shoes to change in to if you wish.
  • Please make sure that you also bring a coat for all weeks, even those stated as indoors, as we may go outside for a short while. - Be Prepared!
  • Please inform a leader before the meeting if you are going to be away to help us to plan activities. A phone call or email a day or two in advance would be best.
